Great Cars for Hot Weather

We’ve all heard of cold weather packages with heated seats and headlight washers. Nobody ever mentions hot weather packages, though. That’s a shame because living in places like Miami can really wear out the A/C system, which depletes your fuel quickly. There are some vehicles that come with useful features for hot climates; although, they’re not easy to spot. We’ll let you in on which ones to look for.

Ford Fusion Titanium

MSRP: $30,610
MPG: 21/31
Hot Weather Features: Solar tinted windows, automatic climate control, ventilated seats.

This stylish sedan comes with ventilated seats, solar tinted windows and automatic climate control. All of that at an MSRP of around $30,000. It’s not available with a V6 engine; although, its EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine does produce 231 horsepower. It has a decent cargo capacity of 16 cubic feet and comes with a rearview camera, keyless entry, break assist and a security system. That’s a lot of features for the price.

Hyundai Sonata Limited (with Tech Package)

MSRP: $30,000
MPG: 25/36
Hot weather features: solar control glass, dual front auto temperature control, ventilated seats, sunshades

The Sonata Limited with the Tech Package, like the Fusion, goes for around $30,000. It has an 8-inch screen for infotainment, a panoramic sunroof and Hyundai’s impressive 10-yr/100,000 mile powertrain and 5-year/60,000 mile vehicle warranty with 5-year roadside assistance. And it comes with a great set of cooling features like rear side window sunshades, ventilated seats, solar control glass and dual front automatic temperature control. This is a contender in the hot-climate car market! Save a few thousand dollars by opting for the Sport trim with Premium Package. You’ll miss the sunshades and ventilated seats, though.

Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE (with Climate Comfort Package)

MSRP: $70,900
MPG: 17/23
Hot weather features: park ventilation, privacy glass, 4-zone climate control, front and rear cooled seats, air ducting to third row.

If you’re in need of something a little more capable off-road than a sedan, or something more luxurious, you might consider the Range Rover Sport. This is a true workhorse with 340 hp and a 7,716 lb towing capacity. And, of course, it is a 4WD vehicle. Yet, it does not sacrifice style or comfort. The Climate Comfort Package ($910) features comprehensive climate control and seat heating/cooling, meaning all passengers have control of their air and seat temperatures. Park ventilation and privacy glass are standard on the HSE trim.
