2007 Mazda MAZDASPEED3 Review
The MAZDASPEED3 is a high-performance variant of the MAZDA3, which replaced the Protege in 2003. It shares an engine and styling cues with the similar MAZDASPEED6. Compared to the standard MAZDA3, it has a sturdier body and a beefier suspension. The MAZDA3 has taken the automotive media by storm, earning over fifty awards since its debut, including MotorWeek’s 2004 “Driver’s Choice Awards.”

The is one of the best sport compact cars on the market. Starting in the low $20,000 range, it gives pricier competitors a run for their money. Delivering exhilarating performance, a stylish exterior and solid reliability, the MAZDASPEED is the car to beat. But with a production run of only 5,000, finding one can be a challenge.

What Others Are Saying:
“I really love this car. I’m a big fan of the Mazda3 five-door to begin with — it’s a lot of car for the money, with great cargo capacity, wonderful driving feel and unique looks. The Mazdaspeed version just amplifies everything that I like about the standard edition — more power, hotter looks, better handling, but still totally drivable on a daily basis.” – About.com
“The Mazdaspeed 3 is the hottest sport compact to roll this year. Check the facts: 263 hp, a fortified chassis, and a racy cabin for a base price of $22,835. Radar guns see a demure econobox. The reality is that affordability, practicality, and stealthy velocity can share the same three-legged stool.” – Automobile Magazine
“Compared with the Mazdaspeed 6, the 3 feels buoyant, scrappier, like the 6 but after its stomach has been stapled. And the Mazdaspeed 3 looks every bit a swashbuckler. On our scale, this one rates maximum fun.” – Car and Driver
