At Buyingadvice.com our goal is to help you make an informed used car purchase. The vast array of used cars on the market can make the prospect of selecting a vehicle seem daunting. So, we have drawn on our extensive research data base to create a ranking of overall used vehicle reliability by model.
We based our Report of Recommended Used Cars primarily on the opinions of consumers who have owned these models. These ratings illustrate average owner experience, based on Buyingadvice research.
We highly recommend you get an independent inspection or vehicle history report on a individual vehicle before making any used car purchase.
The BuyingAdvice Team compared models using a broad range of criteria to bring you our list of the Top 5 Used Cars By Category from the model years 1998-2006.
We implemented proprietary statistical measures to create a scoring system of 0-10. The highest rated model, Honda Accord received a 9.9 rating and the lowest rated model, Chevrolet Tahoe received a 6.4 rating.
Recommended ratings for a particular model do not necessarily mean that every customer will have a positive experience. They simply indicate that, on average, consumer experiences with that model are better than with competing models.
Overall, we believe that the vehicles included on this list provide a better than average ownership experience, although in some cases, we have highlighted certain model years to avoid. So, take some time to look over our findings and see if there is a used car that fits your lifestyle.
