What’s New For 2007:

The grille and headlights have been redesigned. Extra chrome has been added to the exterior. An extended wheelbase model has been added with a 6.5-ft bed. A new monochrome appearance package is now available.

J.D. Power gives the Mark LT 4.5 stars for overall mechanical quality, as well as performance and design. The only real problem reported has been with vehicle vibration. The 2006 model was recalled twice for ungreased shaft gears and software errors. Expect above average reliability. The basic warranty lasts for four years or 50,000 miles.

Analysis Of Safety Ratings And Features:

The Mark LT earned perfect frontal crash test scores. IIHS ratings are not available. Anti-lock brakes come standard.

Pros and Cons:

Pros
+ Novelty of a Lincoln pickup truck
+ Solid reliability
+ Powerful towing capacity

Cons
– Complete lack of safety features
– Not as luxurious as you’d expect
– Hefty price tag

Head-To-Head Competition:

The Cadillac Escalade EXT comes with standard 4WD, navigation, a DVD player, side airbags, and 100 more hp. However, it also costs $16,000 more. The Hummer H2 SUT includes standard 4WD and 25 more hp, but lacks a CD changer and costs $16,000 more. Of course, the real alternative is the Ford F-150 off which the LT is based. In fact, the King Ranch trim includes all of the Mark LT’s amenities for less.

What Others Are Saying:

“The Lincoln Mark LT offers an eye-catching exterior and all of the utility of a Ford F-150, but is a little short on luxury.”Forbes

“The bottom line is steep at more than $43,000. The base price ($39,200) is also steep for a truck, but if you want luxury, or at least the appearance of luxury, then this might fit the bill.”The Auto Channel

“Pleasant pickup, but lacks true luxury credentials.”USA Today
