Head-To-Head Competition:

The Suzuki SX4 Sport costs about the same, and has very similar performance and equipment. The Nissan Versa Hatchback costs quite a bit less, but has over 15 less hp and lacks power windows. The Scion xD cost over 1,000 less and has slightly better power and fuel economy.

What Others Are Saying:

“Ignore those who would cast aspersions on Kia, for the days of low-rent, dubious-quality have ended. The Sorrento proved that beyond any doubt; the new Spectra5 takes dependable engineering another step forward.”About.com

“Excellent shift linkage, allied with the good pedal arrangement, makes the Spectra5 fun to drive, and if it’s not the fastest car in the world in a straight line, no big deal. Wanna go fast in a straight line? Buy an airplane ticket. Corners are where the fun is.”The Auto Channel

“It’s easy to see why most reviews of Korean cars are clouded with fluff. It’s tempting to cheer on the underdog. But the truth is that Toyondissan has nothing to fear from Kia’s sales leader. The Spectra is still the sort of uninspired car you buy because you can afford to, not because you want to.”The Truth About Cars
