2007 BMW 6-Series Review
After a 15-year hiatus, the 6-Series raced back onto showroom floors in 2004. A luxury coupe that fills the spot once taken by the 8-Series, the 6-Series delivers typical BMW style and performance. A convertible model was introduced soon after. The original 645Ci was replaced by the more powerful 650i.
The BuyingAdvice Team Says:
With its commanding style and futuristic refinements, the BMW 6 Series is one of the sleekest cars on the road. With more bells and whistles than we can list here, BMW follows through on its reputation for advanced technology. However, when stacked against competing models, it isn’t such a great value.
What’s New For 2007:
What is the Predicted Reliability:
J.D. Power initial reliability data is not available. The 6-Series has had very few problems, including non-functional convertible tops, cracking lenses, and inaccurate dashboard lights. The basic warranty lasts for four years or 50,000 miles.

Pros and Cons:

Cons

Head-To-Head Competition:
The Audi S4 costs $18,000 less, and includes AWD, a CD changer, and an automatic transmission. However, the 6-Series has a larger engine, a navigation system, and a sunroof. The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 LZ2 costs $2,000 less, has a much larger engine, a CD changer, and 145 more hp. The 6-Series counters with its navigation system and sunroof. The Mercedes-Benz CLK 550 costs $12,000 less, and includes a larger engine, automatic, and 22 more hp. But it lacks the BMW’s side airbags, sunroof, navigation, and has less cargo space.
What Others Are Saying:
“Throughout that time, it didn’t matter what gearbox ratios the car had, nor that it was equipped with half a dozen intelligent airbags, ARS, ABS, and a Logic 7 audio system. What really mattered was feeling special driving it. And this car has that ingredient aplenty.” – The Auto Channel
“The interior is comfortable up front, though not as spacious as the large exterior dimensions might suggest. The back seat is cramped.” – Forbes
“The BMW 650i is a luxury sport coupe filled with technology to make driving (and riding) more enjoyable, safer, and less tiring. The head-up display belongs on every car. The coupe is the car to buy for two people who don’t pack light when traveling.” – PC Magazine
